Violence erupted after ‘serious disorder’ incident in Leicester

A police spokesman said: “Several incidents of police received reports of violence and damage and are currently investigating.

“We’ve been warned of circulating video of a man pulling down flag outside religious building on Melton Road, Leicester.

“Looks like it took place while the police were busy with public mess in in area. The incident will be investigated.

“Two arrests were made – one human on suspicion of conspiracy for the purpose commit violent disorder and one human on suspicion of possession of blade article. They are remain in in police custody.

“We continue call for dialogue and calmly with support from local community leaders. We will not tolerate violence or disorder in our city”.

Additional officers were on patrol in in area in last weeks after the series of incidents of upset after Asian Cup cricket match.
