Deutsche Börse acquires a majority stake in Swiss Crypto Finance AG. The group announced this today in a press release. According to company information, Frankfurter Aktiengesellschaft is acquiring two thirds of the shares. The investment is in the “moderate three-digit CHF million range”. The remaining shares remain with Crypto Finance. The management level around CEO and founder Jan Brzezek also remains unchanged. The transaction is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2021.

With the takeover, Deutsche Börse wants to move on towards digital assets advance. Around 200 digital assets are currently tradable on the Swiss platform, around the clock. In addition, the good networking of Crypto Finance should have been an argument for the takeover by the German stock exchange.

Entry into crypto finance is not the company’s first foray into the crypto sector. As early as the end of April, the Frankfurt crypto air was sniffed when they opened their own marketplace for digital assets together with Commerzbank and Fintech 360X.
