Sisu (2023): The Ultimate Action Movie Set in WWII Finland – Trailer, Cast, and Release Date Revealed

The Action Movie Renaissance Continues with the Release of Sisu (2023)

The film industry is still having a renaissance of action movies, and Sisu (2023), the latest movie from director Jalmari Helander, will keep that trend going. Fans of action movies have been talking a lot about John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), the latest movie in a fan-favorite franchise and is almost certain to be one of the year’s biggest movies. It’s one of the most-anticipated movies 2023, but action fans must wait for the next installment once the movie comes out in March. Lionsgate is about to create another movie that looks very “Wiccan” in nature. This may be because they knew people would want to see more entertaining action movies.

Sisu

Sisu takes viewers to Finland during World War II, where an old prospector named Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila), who seems to be an ordinary man, finds a huge amount of gold. Now he has to travel more than 500 miles to get the gold to the nearest bank, but he runs into a big problem when a group of greedy Nazi soldiers blocks his way. Korpi will have to fight his way to the faraway town with the help of his loyal dog, a pickaxe, and many guns so he can dig up some painful wounds from a past life.

The premiere of Jalmari Helander’s action-packed extravaganza at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022 made a big splash and will soon be shown in more theaters. Here is everything we know about Sisu, including the new movie’s trailer, cast, and release date.

On July 19, the FX drama’s second season will be released worldwide on Disney+. The company has confirmed that the show will be available on the platform that day.

When the show’s second season starts later this summer, Disney+ will have all ten episodes available.

Is there a Sisu Trailer?

The first trailer for Sisu doesn’t waste any time getting to know prospector Aatami Korpi and his cute dog friend, who we hope will end up the same way as the dog in the first John Wick (2014) movie. His hard work digging and mining finally pays off when he hits gold—and much of it. The only thing standing between him and a big payday is the bank, which is about 563 miles away. He would have to walk across Nazi-occupied Finland to get there, which would take him several days. The invaders are another problem for Korpi, who is stopped by a group of Nazi soldiers who try to steal his money and kill him without a second thought. As Korpi sticks his knife into a gunman’s head, the fascist thugs realize he is not just a miner.

Some other people who live in Finland say that Korpi used to be a scary military general before his family and home were destroyed. Korpi probably wanted a quieter life after he caught all the people who did it, but since he met the Nazis, his life has become very loud. Now, a particularly cruel SS officer has heard about Korpi, and he is sending the rest of the Nazi forces to Finland to find him and take his valuable gold.

What Is the Plot for Sisu?

The official plot synopsis for Sisu reads as follows:

During the last desperate days of WWII, a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word “sisu”, this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back – even if it
