Ukrainian Forces Fire Over 70 Grad Rockets at Russian Village
Vladimir Zhdanov, head of the Chebykinsky district of Russia’s Belgorod region, said on Monday that Ukrainian forces fired more than 70 Grad rockets at the village of Novaya Tavolganka in Chebykino this morning.
Zhdanov said: “Today, until 08:30, the village of Novaya Tavolganka was bombed with more than 70 Grad installations, the city of Chebykino with more than 15 artillery shells,” the Russian TASS news agency reported.
He also added that in just a week, as a result of the shelling of Chebykino by Ukrainian troops, 1,150 apartments in 67 residential buildings and 370 private houses were completely damaged or destroyed.
Drone Attack
This came after the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said earlier that a fire broke out at an energy facility in the region in the early morning as a result of a drone attack.
Gladkov added on Telegram: “In the Belgorod region, a fire broke out at one of the energy facilities. The primary cause of the fire was an explosive device that fell from a drone. There were no injuries or deaths,” Reuters reports.
Repel One of the Most Dangerous Attacks
It is noteworthy that at the end of May, the Russian army announced that it had repulsed one of the most dangerous cross-border attacks by a Ukrainian “sabotage group”, which, according to it, penetrated into Russian territory in Belgorod.
While Kyiv denied attacking Moscow last week, it also denied that its army was involved in the invasion of Belgorod. It says that these operations are carried out by Russian volunteer fighters.
