Patrushev discusses security collaboration with Venezuela and Cuba

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev discussed security cooperation with Caracas and Havana at a meeting he held in Moscow today with his Venezuelan and Cuban counterparts.

According to the press service of the Russian Security Council, Patrushev held a series of bilateral talks in Moscow today, on Monday, with his colleagues from a number of countries who arrived in Russia to participate in the eleventh international security meeting.

In a statement, the ministry said that Batushev had discussed with the Secretary General of the National Defense Council of Venezuela, Jose Ferreira, joint measures of cooperation between the special services and military structures of Russia and Venezuela.

Patrushev also discussed regional stability issues during talks with Cuban Interior Minister Alvarez Casas.

At a joint meeting with Philippe Obara, Director General of the Central Intelligence Agency of the Republic of the Congo, the prospects for joint actions to combat terrorism between Moscow and Kinshasa were discussed.

Patrushev also discussed regional security issues on the African continent with Benedict Lekando, Director General of the Central Intelligence Agency in Namibia.

Patrushev and Director General of the Police of the Republic of Benin Samael Elbi Yaya confirmed the readiness of the two countries to intensify bilateral cooperation between law enforcement agencies.

And Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said earlier that the eleventh international meeting of high-ranking security officials will be held under the auspices of the Russian Security Council from May 23 to 25 in Moscow.
