“I woke up up just after 2 a.m. Angharad shouts: “Logan dead'”
Defendant John Cole, who is an in witness box describes the moment when he claims that last saw his stepson Logan Mwangi alive.
The defendant said, “He kept jumping out of bed clapping on in floor as well as on his knees……….. We spent hours put him to sleep.”
His lawyer David Elias QC said: “You hit to him in Any way? Kolya said: “No.”
Mr. Elias said, “What did he look like?” Cole said, “Irritated.”
Mr. Elias said, “Were you worried about his health?” Kolya said: “No.”
Mr. Elias said, “Who was he? wearing? Cole said: “He still had his dinosaur t-shirt. on and the butt of dinosaurs.
The defendant said that he went to bed at midnight and took his medicine. He said: “[Williamson] was originally in bed with me, but because Logan kicked off she went to sit on armchair in his bedroom.”
Mr. Elias said, “Did you see her go to Logan’s bedroom?” Kolya said: “Yes.”
Mr. Elias said, “When you went to bed, where were you?” Cole said, “I was in bathroom.”
Mr. Elias said: “Was Angharad with you?” Cole said, “No, she was still sitting in bathroom with Logan.

Mr. Elias said: “What was next thing you knew of?
Cole said “I woke up up just after 2 a.m. Angharad shouts: “Logan dead’.
Mr. Elias asked, “What did you do?” Cole said: “I went into Logan’s bedroom and tried to do CPR. on to him.”
Mr. Elias said, “When did you enter the bedroom where Logan was?”
Cole said: “He was on his bed, legs up up to his belly and head was tilted to the right hand side,. His eyes were wide open.”
Mr. Elias asked, “How did you feel?” Cole said: “I tried to do CPR. on him when Angharad said he dead and she heard him take his last breath. I was trying to save him, I was literally trying to do CPR. on to him.”
Mr Elias said “Who was he wearing? Cole said: “He just were his pajama pants on…. I started doing chest compressions and breathing. I translated it into floor and did cardiopulmonary resuscitation for age, like 10-15 minutes.”
Mr. Elias said: “Did he have any effect on him?” Kolya said, “No.”
Mr. Elias said, “Who was in room?” Cole said, “Angarad and I.”
Mr. Elias asked, “What happened next?” Cole said, “I continued for age, 10-15 minutes. There was no answer at all. Eventually Angharad said, “Stop, please stop.” She wept and said, “He dead’.
Mr Elias said: “You know Why was Logan in is this a state? Cole said, “No… I just woke up up to the one, that just after 2 am. This just didn’t make sense at all.”
Mr. Elias said, “Have you stopped?” Kolya said: “Yes.”
Cole was asked about what happened. next. He said, “Angharad is wearing a Spider-Man T-shirt. on i helped her put it on on him, i put him in Nike bag and carried it out”.
Mr. Elias said: “Who suggested wearing the Spider-Man top? on him?” Cole said, “I don’t remember… He didn’t have a top on when i went to give him CPR.
Mr Elias said: “Was there any conversation between the two of you before the top was put on and you put Logan in Nike bag? Cole said: “We both panicked. of us were – we were not know what to do. We mentioned calling the police and an ambulance, but Logan was already dead”.
Mr. Elias said, “Why did you panic?”
Cole said “Because I just come in to dead baby, it didn’t make sense… Why was he dead”.
Mr. Elias said, “Have you done anything to lead to his death? You know what kind caused him to die?
Kolya said: “No.”
Mr. Elias said, “What was on your mind?”
Cole said, “Angharad told me, ‘What shall we do? What are we doing?’ I said, “What are you want should I do? We went back and forth for but good five minutes or so.”
Mr. Elias said, “Why don’t you call for ambulance?”
Cole said: “Shock, panic… The situation was pointless and I didn’t know what to do….. I didn’t think quite right….. Logan died, he was already dead”.
