LHC calls secretary over detain in CMelections

LAHORE:

Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday convened the Punjab Assembly secretary along with suitable record in connection with the elections of provincial chief minister.

Chief Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti heard separate petitions filed by PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari.

At the beginning of proceedings, Mazar counsel informed bench that Speaker Pervez Elahi illegally withdrew powers and obstructed in in CMselections.

Judge Bhatti asked why the speaker can’t leave power if he could delegate them.
