France called to confess on Exoset’kill switches that could save the lives of British sailors

Mr Ellwood said the suggestion that France may have shared information about the Exocet that could have saved British lives “requires further investigation”.

He added: “We are not know the wider the decision, by doing what surrounded it. Indeed, those responsible may not be alive today.

“Because we are looking at future battles we must learn from past events, and this includes how we work with allies and how we share critical intelligence. This would certainly be game-change if France preferred share this characteristic of Exoset.

Dr. Fox pointed out out that in 2010, David Cameron and Nicolas Sarkozy, then prime minister and the President of France signed the bilateral treaties of Lancaster House for cooperation in the field of defense and security.

“I would think in spirit of these treaties are french want be as open and honest as possible with us- he said. It won’t change anything in this relationship, but it set historical record straight.”

Bob Seeley, Conservative MP and former Army captain who is sitting on foreign affairs selection committee, said: “If the Exocets contained what was in fact on/off switchfrench should shared this with us.

“If this works out out that information was withheld, it would one of most embarrassing episodes in Anglo-French relations. Lot of British sailors died because of it’s a weapon and we owe it to the families of those who died and to history to get to truth.

“Perhaps the French told us everything we needed to know need to be transparent.”
