Dentist warns that drinking soda through a straw can harm your teeth

Dentist Artur Tomashevich said that drinking soda through a straw harms your teeth.

He explained that the common myth that you can drink sweet soda through a straw without harming your teeth is not true. Dentist Arthur Tomashevich spoke about this in an interview with the Russian website Gazeta.Ru, noting that if you drink sweet soda in this way, the back surface of the teeth will be damaged.

He said: “If we drink through a straw, we relieve pressure on the surface of the tooth, but do not protect the inner surface of the tooth at all.” from the stomach to the oral cavity, where the surface of the tooth becomes infected, decays, and then deteriorates.

Biologist Natalia Coleman told 360 TV channel that drinking store-bought soft drinks and juices can weaken a person’s immune system, and the risk of this especially increases in the fall.

Dentist Veronika Melikova, in an interview with the Life.ru portal, said that you should chew gum only after eating and for no more than 15 minutes, since chewing gum is useful only during this period. Chewing gum, according to the doctor, helps remove food debris and stimulates the production of saliva in a person.
