As rumors about Zayn Malik and Selena Gomez dating continue, the “Pillowtalk” singer showed off an attractive new hairstyle on Instagram on Thursday.
In the picture, Malik poses in the studio with music producer and engineer Daniel Zaidenstadt, showing off his new cornrows.
Fans of the singer on Instagram liked the new hairstyle, but many people on Twitter didn’t like it.
“Now I KNOWWWW that ain’t Zayn with some cornrows,” one person tweeted with a series of crying emojis about the star’s choice of a traditionally black hairstyle.
“Zayn, get rid of those goddamn cornrows,” someone else begged.
“I’m not even mad about the appropriation of culture; I’m mad that it doesn’t look good,” said a third.
But not everyone didn’t like the braids on the former One Direction member.
One Twitter user said the star was “buff, hot, and healthy,” Another said, “Sorry, y’all, but I have to stand by him and tell the truth: Zayn looks good with the cornrows.”
