Sindh deploys police commandos on streets of Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh government decided to deploy police commandos from the Special Security Unit (SSU) on streets in Karachi to treat with rising street crimes in the metropolitan city.

The decision was taken from Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in view of the situation of the prevailing law and order.

As for the commando decisions they will be deployed in the main points in Karachi from Thursday.

They will be responsible for snap-checking, while Madadgar 15 personnel it will be distributed in the main roads of the city.

A complete failure of law enforcement agencies to counter an alarming rise in street crimes in Karachi has been seen as 13 citizens have been killed so far in 11,000 reported incidents in only 2022.

Records collected of street crime accidents in Karachi from the start of 2022 revealed the shocking rise in illegality due to the failure of Karachi police.

So far 13 citizens have lost their lives, including police officers and a journalist for resist the robberies, while the dacoities denounced during the past 1.5 months was 11,000.

More than 80 people were injured for resist robberies in the port city.

According to latest statistics, 3,845 mobile the phones were seized in Karachi from January 1 to February 17, 672 motorbikes and 20 auto. The number of vehicles torn from street criminals was different from the stolen auto and motorcycles.

The police department confirmed that 6,087 motorcycles and 296 were auto stolen during the aforementioned period.
