Authorities say they have arrested the owner of shoe store for opening fire on shoplifters at the Victorville mall, which instead hit innocent 9-year- old woman.

According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials, 20-year-old Markel Cockrell – co-owner of shoe store called Sole Addicts – was identified as the shooter. Investigators say, Cockrell, who life in Adelanto was chasing two shoplifters. out of in storeand fired several shots at them. The shots missed the shoplifters, and instead hit young woman.

The shooter fled the scene, but Cockrell was found around 9:00 pm by the Nevada Highway Patrol and taken into custody. Cockrell is being held at the Clark County Jail. in Nevada on extradition warrant, for attempt murder, in in amount of 1 million dollars.
The mall reopened on Wednesday, but the shooting is still fresh. in minds of buyers and employees. Shopper Terry Lattimore said she survived in in area for long time and never seen so much problems as she sees now.
