ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday instructed authorities to expedite rescue and relief operations. in flood- affected areas, taking into account the forecast of more rains in those areas.
prime minister, who is currently on state visit to Qatar, oversees rescue and relief efforts in country to be taken for in the floodstruck people.
He directed the National Disaster Management Administration (NDMA) and all relevant ministries and departments for cooperation with one another, as successive rain spells worsened flood-caused destruction.
He said the floods caused huge damage. on in people it was the nation’s responsibility for support their countrymen.
“Rehabilitation in disaster-hit area is a gigantic task. it possible only by collective efforts” prime minister said and asked the local and international charitable organizations to expand their support for rehabilitation of injured population.
