law enforcement recruits in critical state after hit on car in the morning run in Whittier

BUT group of law enforcement recruits in critical condition after they hit on car in the morning run in Whittier, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident was reported at 6:30 am near the intersection. of Mills Avenue and Telegraph Road. Recruits attend the Sheriff’s Training Academy and Center for Regional Services (STARS) located in block 11500 of Colima Road, about a mile long with half from crash website.

Whittier is 20 miles southeast of of downtown Los Angeles.

Authorities confirmed driver passed sobriety test and was taken into custody. results of sobriety test are unknown.

SkyFOX was over the scene and showed debris from the wreckage, as well as additional patients being examined by medical personnel.

11 victims were delivered urgently. area trauma centers, some of which are airlifted and up up to 15 recruits could be hit.

Circumstances leading up to driver Victimization is under investigation.

Neighbor tells FOX 11 recruits often go jogging in in area as well as run in packages wearing reflective vests.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said he on his way to area hospitals to check in with victims and says some of them could have received life-threatening injuries.
