Palestinian Islamist Group Hamas Launches Surprise Attack on Israel
A Palestinian Islamist group known as Hamas launched a sudden and unexpected attack on Israel on Saturday, which is being considered as the largest attack in decades. The attack involved gunmen infiltrating areas of southern Israel from the Gaza Strip. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared, “We are at war.”
Reports suggest that dozens of people have been killed and hostages have been taken back to the Gaza Strip. Additionally, Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities have been targeted by rocket attacks, while Israel has retaliated with air strikes.
