Old Diablo 2 save games are remake compatible

Diablo 2: Resurrected players can use their savegames from the original Diablo 2.

Producer Matthew Cederquist announced this in an interview with IGN. “Yes, keep your savegames! When we were working on the remaster, we wondered if old savefiles would work and we tried it, and it worked! We were like, ‘okay, this is the best feature ever’.”

Diablo 2: Resurrected also has cross-save functionality. For example, players can transfer their booked progression from PC to consoles and vice versa. Crossplay in multiplayer is not an option, as the PC and console versions have different controls.

Diablo 2: Resurrected includes both the main game and the Lord of Destruction. Players can expect improved animations and effects, dynamic lighting and a 4K resolution. The game is being developed by Blizzard in partnership with Vicarious Visions, and should be released on PC, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch sometime later this year.
