Drag race between two SUVs with a V8 engine to determine which has the best performance
The BMW X6M imposes its performance as a high-performance SUV with figures that impress any car fan.
This time the team «Carwow », decided to put the German SUV to the test against the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, prepared by Lister, and took the two models to the track and confronted them in a drag race, in a race launched and in a braking test.
The BMW X6M is equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 bi-turbo engine, capable of delivering 625 hp of power, a torque of 750 Nm, and weighing 2,370 kg.
The Jaguar F-Pace SVR prepared by Lister, with Mat Watson at the wheel, comes with a 5.0 liter V8 block, which after being modified by the British preparer has a power of 675 hp, a torque of 881 Nm, and a weight of 2,050 kg.
In addition to the weight difference, it remains to be seen whether the slight difference in power in favor of the Jaguar from Lister is enough to beat the powerful SUV from BMW.
As it turned out, the ¼ mile drag race was quite balanced, but the BMW X6M achieved victory, despite the German SUV crossing the finish line at the same time as the Jaguar F-Pace SVR from Lister, 11.7 seconds.
In the second race, launched at 80 km/h, in Confort mode, Lister’s F-Pace SVR showed all its power, ending up being faster than the X6M.
In a variant of the race launched, in third speed and with Sport mode, the muscular Jaguar Lister’s F-Pace SVR returned to be better, finishing in front of the BMW X6M, despite a more balanced start to the race.
In the brake test the about 110 km/h, carried out on wet roads, the two models showed a very similar performance, and it was not possible to determine the winner of this last challenge.
