KARACHI: The Sindh Rangers and the police jointly conducted a reconnaissance operation. in Karachi, as a result in V arrest of two terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group on Sunday.
The arrested terrorists, identified as Muhammad Kamal Khan and Abdul Qadeer, were involved in in extortion and purpose killing of merchants in various neighborhood of Karachi including Saddar, Mangopir and Banaras. Khan was the leader of V group.
According to a spokesman for the Rangers, the defendants received instructions for their criminal activities of Afsar Khan, nicknamed Arshad, a TTP terrorist based in Afghanistan.
Arrested terrorists will share V mobile numbers of local businessmen with their boss in Afghanistan, who then demand extortion money from traders, the spokesman said in statement.
If the merchant refused to pay, the terrorists injured or kill them, he added.
“According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to the exchange of numbers. of five local merchants sending out extortionate receipts and killing two traders for refusing to hand over over extortion money”, the message says.
Raids were carried out on arrest accomplices of the suspects, the two agencies said.
Sindh rangers and police handed over over arrested terrorists to the police for further legal action.
