Moscow, June 4 – Seven people were killed and two wounded in a shooting at a hostel in the South African city of Umlazi on Saturday, local police said.
“According to Al-Amlazy Police, today (June 3 – Ed.)… nine men between the ages of 20 and 40 were drinking alcohol in a room… in a hostel when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them, and they subsequently fled from the site,” the statement said on the website. The South African Police official said seven were killed on the spot and two were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police said the motive for the shooting is unknown at this point. The site also announced the start of an investigation into the incident.
