Toyota announces development of fuel cell modules

Toyota has developed a compact fuel cell module based on the Mirai. The four variants are very versatile.

Toyota has developed a fuel cell module that is based on the Mirai system and is compatible with various types of vehicles should. The Japanese manufacturer announced that Toyota plans to sell the modules to manufacturers of fuel cell products in spring 2021. They are suitable for trucks, buses, trains, ships and stationary generators, among other things.

Compact module in four versions

Components for air and hydrogen supply, cooling and power control are connected in a compact way. The module has a voltage range of 400 to 750 volts and weighs 240 or 250 kilos, depending on the variant.

The four versions include a horizontal and a vertical version, each with 60 or 80 kilowatts of power. Depending on the application, the variants can be combined.
