The coaching team of the Latvian national team has been supplemented by Akselis Vairogs, who in recent years has been an assistant to the head coach Robert Štelmaher “Ventspils” and Tallinn “Kalev / Cramo”. The leadership of the national unit continues to act so that the players of the Euroleague club Moscow region “Khimki” Jānis Timma and Dairis Bertāns can also join the team.
Latvia The national teams will qualify for the final if they win the Bulgarian national team with at least a seven-point advantage on February 20 (very likely +6; in which case the balance in the mutual games will be tied, will be +4, Bulgaria -55) or if they beat Bulgaria by one to five points and beat Greece on February 22.
) Due to the pandemic, the final of the European Championship has been postponed from 2021 to September 2022. Eligibility is open to a sample of four host countries: the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy and Germany. Before the last two rounds of the qualifying tournament, teams from seven more countries have already provided tickets: Israel, Spain (both Group A), Croatia (D), Slovenia, Ukraine (both F), Greece and Bosnia (both H). In the last rounds, 13 more final tournament participants have to be determined.
