Tech giants protest Nvidia's acquisition of ARM

Companies like Qualcomm, Google and Microsoft are protesting the acquisition of ARM by Nvidia. So say Bloomberg sources.

The companies call competition authorities to investigate the deal for which video card maker Nvidia is paying $ 40 million. One company would even call for the acquisition to be banned.

The British company supplies semiconductors and software, and designs chips for several manufacturers, including companies such as Samsung, Apple and Huawei. Bloomberg sources are concerned that Nvidia will gain too much power over chip designs and raise prices for competition or restrict access.

Nvidia indicates that it applies a ‘neutral policy’ and that ‘all stakeholders’ will benefit from the acquisition. Microsoft, Google and Qualcomm have not yet responded to the statement.
