Microsoft last had its Surface- Laptop series was given an update in autumn 2019 and two different sizes – 13.5 and 15 inches – were introduced at the same time. The successor model Surface Laptop 4 now seems to be in the starting blocks.
Surface 4 laptops come with a compartment for SSD card exchange
As Winfuture claims to have found out, Microsoft will launch the new Surface 4 laptops on April 27th. It is not yet clear whether this will happen as part of an event.
It is known, however, that the laptops are back in the two sizes with 13 5- and 15-inch screen sizes are to be offered. Outwardly, they will hardly be distinguishable from their predecessors, especially since Microsoft is again using a housing made of a magnesium-aluminum alloy and a high-resolution touchscreen. At least for the 13.5-inch version, a version with a textile palm rest will be offered again. However, the new Surface laptops should have a small compartment on the underside of the housing, via which the built-in PCIe NVMe SSD cards can be exchanged.

Inside are Intel’s 11th generation Core CPU and AMD processors of the new Surface -Edition must be installed. 8, 16 or 32 gigabytes of RAM are available for the main memory; the latter, however, only in combination with the Intel graphics card. This also applies to the storage options, which are either 128, 256 or 512 gigabytes – or just one terabyte in the Intel variant.

The Surface 4 laptops have Surface Connect as well as USB-A and -C Board and can connect to other devices via WLAN AX and Bluetooth. They are compatible with the Surface Pen and Dial, support Windows Hello and have an ambient light sensor. The battery has 6,513 milliampere hours and 49 watt hours.

The 13.5-inch laptop will be 1.31 (Intel) or 1.25 (AMD ) Weighs kilograms and measures 308 x 223 x 14.5 millimeters. Its big brother measures 339.5 x 244 x 14.5 millimeters and the Intel version weighs 1.54 kilograms.
