Sega wants to release a 'Super Game' sometime in the next five years

Sega plans to release a so-called ‘Super Game’ within the next five years.

This is evident from a presentation by the company in which the published its annual fiscal figures. This game would start with a low profit margin as it would be a new IP, but has a lot of potential to grow globally. The game should be released sometime within five years, but more details are not there yet.

The presentation also shows that Sega also has a new first person shooter in development at a European studio. That shooter is probably being developed by Total War developer Creative Assembly, which is currently looking for employees for a new shooter.

Sega also wants various remakes, release remasters and reboots of classic Sega franchises. Series that the company believes have the potential to be covered include Crazy Taxi, Rez, Nights, Panzer Dragoon, Shinobi, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, Virtua Fighter, Streets of Rage, House of the Dead, Altered Beast and Soul Hackers.

Sega also plans to bolster existing three-year franchises by popularizing them around the world. Phantasy Star Online 2, Yakuza, Persona 5, Total War and Sonic are mentioned.
