Saudi Arabian farmers receive third installment payment for wheat supply

The Saudi Arabian General Authority for Food Security has announced the payment of third installment contributions to local wheat farmers, including payment to the beneficiaries of the contractual relationship between (farmers and agricultural companies) who supplied the quantities allocated to them for this 2023 season and closed their accounts through the electronic platform “My Harvest” on the official website of the department.

And the authorities said in a statement today, Sunday, that the net amount that was deposited in the farmers’ bank accounts for this shipment was 168.54 million rials, worth 96.96 thousand tons for (347) farmers, including (40) farmers who have contractual relationships with companies.
The total amount spent on farmers this season increased to 367.96 million rials with a volume of 212.4 thousand tons for (756) farmers.
Current wheat supply season
It is noteworthy that the authorities began to receive local wheat from farmers for the current season, starting on Shaaban 27, 1444 AH, and the total amount received from farmers to date has reached 403.94 thousand tons for 1537 farmers.
Cabinet Resolution
This is in pursuance of Cabinet Resolution No. (39) of 16 Muharram 1438 AH, approving the Authority’s purchase of wheat from farmers in accordance with the rules for stopping the cultivation of green fodder issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (66) of 25 Safar. , 1437 AH, which includes the appointment of the Authority to purchase wheat from qualified farmers in case they decide to grow wheat for (5) years, with a maximum of (1.5) million tons per year.
