The Montreal branch is working with the current studio in Paris on a ‘new AAA game’. “We have structured the relationship between the two entities so that they work together as one team with distinctive demarcation on both sides to build this project together,” said general manager D’Astous.
Square Enix Montreal founder D’Astous is one of the studio’s new employees. Yohan Cazaux, lead designer of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, has been appointed as gameplay director for the new game.
Little is known about the unannounced title at the moment. Cage indicates that he wants to apply new, still ‘unused methods of storytelling’ in the new game. He also says he wants to explore ‘new directions’, but how exactly is not yet clear.
In addition to developing its own games, Quantic Dreams recently titles from third parties. For example, Sea of Solitude: Director’s Cut by Jo-Mei Games will soon be released.
