PTI government made wrong decisions on Prices of oil products: Shahid Khaqan

ISLAMABAD: Criticism led by PTI government for price retention of artificially lowered oil products, PML-N senior leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that past government made wrong decisions get cheap advertising.

Speaking at a press conference, Shahid Khaqan said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had rejected the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) report on the increase in oil prices because government not want shift the burden to the masses during the holy month of Ramadan.

” past government took wrong decisions for cheap popularity. This is also intentionally created ambiguity about oil prices,” he said. added.

OGRA recommended to increase price of high-speed diesel for 51 rupees, which would take new price to 196 rupees per liter, he said, adding that it is recommended to increase gasoline price from 150 to 171 rubles per liter.

former prime minister said that the prices were announced in accordance with the existing oil levy [which stands at zero] and goods and services tax [also at 0%]. But if taxes are included, then prices of high-speed diesel will see an increase of 120 rubles per liter jump up to 265 rubles per liter. Just like petrol price would fly up to over 231 rubles, he added.

He said that the identity of Imran Khan decisions put the country in trouble.

Hakan said the previous governments wrong politics had a negative impact on countries economy and agreements that were signed with The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be introduced to the masses.
