PPS cannot join Cabinet: Zardari

ISLAMABAD: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, who counts key player behind exile of Imran Khan as prime the minister said that party won’t take ministries.

In a brief press conference in the parliament building on Asif Zardari said on Saturday that they want their friends should be placed first, News reported.

When asked if he wants to put all the burden on Shehbaz Sharif, he said there is no such thing. “We want friends to give chance”.

At the same time, PPP also invited applications from candidates for National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies for forthcoming general elections.

After the Zardari press conference, senior leaders of The PPP started to explain his remarks and said that he didn’t mean that the PPP didn’t joining cabinet.

BUT senior PPP leader, on condition of anonymity, said that PPS wanted fulfill the promises and agreements he had made with coalition partners, it would be join cabinet. Sources said that the PPP, in meeting with PML-N, finally decided on the names for cabinet.

New Cabinet

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif made a decision add 12 PML-N MNA to his federal cabinet while PPP gets seven slots, sources say Geo News Thursday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz sworn in in as prime minister on April 11, after removal of Imran Khan via no-confidence movement – doing it first be prime minister removed through the democratic process.

Meanwhile, in addition to PML-N and PPP members, JUI-F is expected to receive three ministries and state minister portfolio, MQM-P, BAP and BNP-M are expected to receive two ministries everyone. Independent candidates also likely to get ministries, the sources said.

MQM-P to get governor of Sources said Sindh, PPP Punjab, JUI-F Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and BNP-M Balochistan.
