Japanese brand aims to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050

Nissan has revealed that it intends to achieve the company’s carbon neutrality and its products until 2050, and as part of that effort, in early 2030, all new vehicles of the brand in the main markets will be electrified.

To comply the objective, Nissan will invest in more efficient and more cost-effective solid-battery electric vehicles, as well as developing e-Power engines to achieve greater efficiency.

Nissan recognizes that it is looking for more environmentally friendly production in order to minimize the carbon footprint of its products and operations. In this way the Japanese brand aims to contribute to a carbon neutral society in the long run.

“Our electrified vehicle offering will continue to expand worldwide and this will allow for a contribution meaningful for Nissan to achieve carbon neutrality. We will continue to drive innovation that enriches people’s lives while working for a sustainable future for all “ , said Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida in a statement.

Nissan’s electrification and emission reduction efforts aim to support objectives of the United Nations Paris Agreement on climate change and global progress towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
