LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), left for London early Wednesday morning hours after she received her passport from the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Nawaz submitted the travel document to the Supreme Court. in 2019 during bail in Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) vaccination case.
Apparently, her household staff also travel with her. Before leaving for London, she visited the graves of her grandparents and mother in family cemetery in Raivand.
The visit comes less than a week after her conviction in the link to Avenfield House was overturned by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), making way for her to challenge the upcoming general elections.
“I really want to meet my father”, Nawaz told reporters upon arrival at the airport. She was “thankful to Almighty Allah that I will finally meet my father”.
Nawaz expected to arrive in London via connecting flight from Doha, the capital city of Qatar. She is dating Nawaz Sharif, who lives in self-exile in London since November 2019, after a period of three years.
In an interview with reporters, her husband, Mohammad Safdar, said that Nawaz would take care of Sharif in London and also control his treatment.
“She will be also have detailed discussions on in current political situation”, Safdar added.
