Greece: We have agreed with Riyadh to deploy Patriot batteries in Saudi Arabia

The Greek Foreign Ministry announced, on Wednesday, a significant increase in military cooperation between Riyadh and Athens.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexandros Papaioannou said, in an interview with Al-Arabiya, “We agreed with Riyadh to publish Greek Patriot batteries inside the kingdom. ”

Open cooperation

He continued, “Our cooperation is open with Saudi Arabia and the UAE and is committed to international principles.”

This, and it was Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met in his office in Jeddah yesterday, Tuesday, with Greek Foreign Minister Nikolaos Dendias.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Greece, and aspects of joint cooperation in various fields and means. The guarantor for its support and development, in addition to discussing the current regional conditions and the efforts made in their regard.

The meeting was also attended by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense. And Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, while on the Greek side, Defense Minister Nicholas Panagiotopoulos and Ambassador to the Kingdom Alexis Constantopoulos attended.
