Cooperation between automotive and technology multinationals extends to customer experience
Ford announced a strategic partnership with Google for transforming connectivity and improving the artificial intelligence of US brand vehicles. This partnership with a stated duration of six years is scheduled to start in 2023 and will extend to vehicles of the Lincoln premium brand.
The Ford and Lincoln from all price segments will now be equipped with Android operating systems, with Google applications and other integrated services – such as Google Assistant, Maps and Play -, as well as the North American technological multinational will be the “service provider choice of storage in ‘cloud’ taking advantage of its experience in the treatment of information, artificial intelligence (AI) and ‘machine learning’ (ML) ”.
This partnership also includes the creation of the ‘Team Upshift’ working group for the joint development of “personalized experiences for customers (…) based on information processing ”, integrating projects such as the development of new vehicle acquisition experiences or the creation of new offers for owners.
