‘Women, children the worst-hit recent floods

QUETTA:

Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Kaddus Bizinjo said that women as well as children were the most affected of recent monsoon rains and subsequent floods in provinces.

He added that thousands of women pregnant and the health department provides required medicines and support to women.

He called international community to play this is role in rehabilitation of injured people. “Damage outweighs opportunity of provincial government”, he said. CM argued that Pakistan’s contribution to the emissions of planet-warming gases was less than one percent. Despite all this, the damage done by climate change has been catastrophic and enormous, he said.

He thanked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. for its all support for rehabilitation of in flood affected people.

He expressed these views in a conversation with UN Secretary General and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. in Osta Muhammad.

The UN Secretary General has arrived in Osta Muhammad and met flood affected people.

“Floods completely destroyed infrastructure of Balochistan,” Bizenjo said.
