Nick Price, Head of The CPS Anti-Terrorism and Crime Unit stated: “The CPS has authorized the Metropolitan Police to charge Jaswat Singh Chail with with offenses after arrest in grounds of Windsor castle on December 25, 2021 with a crossbow.
“This decision was made after an investigation out the Met’s counterterrorism command.
“Mr Chail, 20, has been charged. with threats kill, possession of en offensive weapons and crime under the Treason Act 1842.
“The Criminal Prosecution Service reminds everyone concerned what criminal proceedings against Mr. Chile active and that he is entitled to a fair trial.”
He will next appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 17th.
last the person convicted under this act was Marcus Sargent. in 1981 who was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to firing blank shots at the queen during the landing of color.
Mr Singh Chail of Southampton currently held in guardianship ahead of his appearance in court later this month.
