Water supply disrupted in Evpatoria following an accident

Simferopol, June 2 – The Crimean Water Resources Organization reports that the water supply to Crimean Yevpatoria was disrupted due to another accident on a major water canal with a large diameter.
The head of the city administration, Elena Demidova, noted in her telegram channel that “we again have a storm in the aqueduct and the pressure in the city water supply system is decreasing.” He recommended stocking up on technical and drinking water.
Evpatoria and the nearby village of Zaozerny with its many health resorts and children’s sanatoriums are supplied with water from artesian springs located in the Bakhchisarai and Simferopol regions of Crimea. In Soviet times, two water canals with a diameter of 800 and 1020 mm were laid in the city, and since then accidents have occurred on them more than once. The last major incident occurred on February 28, when more than 120,000 residents were left without water in Evpatoria, classes in schools and kindergartens were canceled, and water was brought to the population by means of tanks.
