Volvo will remotely update the XC40 Recharge

Volvo’s 100% electric SUV is the first model of the Swedish brand to receive a remote update

Volvo Cars announced that it will launch the first ‘over the air’ software update on the XC40 Recharge model, the company’s first 100% electric car.

This is the first model in Volvo’s history to receive software updates remotely, putting the Swedish company at the forefront of connected services within the automotive sector.

Very soon, the European owners of the XC40 Recharge will receive a set of updates, including new software for the main electronic systems of the car, an increase in charging speed and an improved autonomy

There are also updates to the Android Automotive operating system that powers the car’s infotainment system, as well as an important safety-related propulsion bug fix.

Finally, this software pack also includes updates for a variety of items, such as Bluetooth connectivity, weather timers, digital owner’s manual and 360 camera degrees

The update is available automatically and XC40 Recharge drivers only need accept the download and perform the installation.

“The benefits of this type of air updates are obvious. Previously it was necessary to go to a workshop to get the latest updates on your car. Now, just click OK and your electric Volvo will take care of the rest. It couldn’t be easier ” , underlined Henrik Green, responsible for the technological department at Volvo Cars
