Verstappen beats Hamilton for the first time over the weekend

Red Bull driver had his best time with soft tires and Mercedes’ time with hard tires

Max Verstappen was the fastest driver in the third practice free kicks for the Saudi Arabian GP beating Lewis Hamilton for the first time this weekend.

The Red Bull driver set the absolute best time in practice in this Saturday’s session with a lap of 1m28.100s in the Circuit de Jeddah and left the Mercedes English at 0.214s in second place in the TL3.

The nuance here is that Verstappen was faster than Hamilton in absolute – with regard to the previous times as well –, but in this morning’s session Red Bull’s time was done with soft tires and Mercedes’ time with hard tyres.

The expectation for the answer that the two candidates for the title will give in qualifying this Saturday is increasing…

The bills for Verstappen to be champion

In some TL3 where Honda engines were in the top 5, the fight between Ferrari and McLaren remains favorable to the Italian team.
