Venezuelan authorities seize 140 bitcoin mining equipment in Carabobo state

Police authorities of the Carabobo state, central region of Venezuela, seized 140 equipment to mine bitcoin this Sunday, July 25. The mining platforms operated, without the corresponding permits, in the Don Tito poultry farm located in the Yagua sector of the city of Guacara.

Until now, it is unknown if during the intervention there was presence of the personnel of the Superintendency of Crypto Assets and Related Activities (SUNACRIP). It is also not known if the retention of the equipment occurred as part of a police operation, since there was no official report confirming it . The information came out through a person who spoke with CriptoNoticias on condition of anonymity.

The seizure of equipment for digital mining is frequent in Venezuela. In the last month the authorities have confiscated more than 500 of these platforms. In June, a total of 411 teams were detained by military authorities in two different procedures, according to a report from this informative portal.

One of the procedures occurred in the state of Portuguesa, where the military detained a total than 332 Bitcoin miners. The other operation was registered in the state of Barinas, where 79 ASIC miners from Innosilicon were detained.

Although digital mining was legalized by decree in the country, the authorities seize equipment from miners who have not been allowed by the Sunacrip. However, during the first days of July this media reported that the agency had promised, to those who develop bitcoin mining and other cryptocurrencies, that would not be visited by any authority without the presence of the governing body staff .
