ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State of Defense General Lloyd James Austin held a telephone conversation with General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Headquarters (COAS) and issues under discussion of mutual interests, regional stability, and defense and security cooperation.
US Secretary of Defense expresses regret over devastation caused unprecedented floods in Pakistan and expressed sincere condolences to the families of victims. He offered full support to people of Pakistan.
He also commended the Pakistan Army’s rescue and relief efforts in areas hit flooding and pledged play his role strengthening cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
A separate phone call was made by Ms. Samantha Power, Administrator of USAID, USA. on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Headquarters (COAS) at HQ. During the meeting, it is important of mutual interest and cooperation and partnership in Humanitarian measures were discussed.
The administrator expressed his regret over devastation caused due to ongoing floods in Pakistan and expressed sincere condolences to the families of victims.
She offered full support to people of Pakistan. She is also praised the efforts of the pakistani army for assistance to civil administration and flood affected population in rescue and rescue work in areas hit recent floods.
COAS thanked for USA support and confirmed that the assistance from our global partners must be vital in rescue and rehabilitation of victims.
