ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday at the call of rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-hit areas formidable challenge said continued support, solidarity and assistance from the US was critical for goal.

Emphasizing the devastating consequences of changing of the climate on planet, prime minister called for stepping up international efforts to achieve climate goals, including mobilizing climate finance to better cope with with this is challenge.
In a regional context, he stressed the importance of peaceful and stable Afghanistan, and encouraged for defrosting of Afghan assets. He also emphasized need for enhanced interaction with Afghan authorities.
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to the cause of peace in in the region including with India, prime minister emphasized need for resolution of long-standing dispute over Jammu and Kashmir, as per UNSC resolutions and wishes of Kashmiri people.
Derek Chollet expressed sincere condolences and sympathy government as well as people of Pakistan on precious lives from river floods in Pakistan.
On behalf of of Biden administration, he reaffirmed that the US would support Pakistan in commemoration of this huge challenge to expand vital support and also help affected people rebuild their lives and communities.
