U.S. court to rehear House bid for testimony from ex-White House counsel McGahn

A U.S. appeals court on Friday stated it would reassess a current decision dismissing a Democratic-led congressional panel’s suit looking for to implement a subpoena for testimony from former White House Counsel Donald McGahn.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit stated it would hear arguments in the event on April 28.

In a 2-1 decision released on Feb. 28, a three-judge panel of the court backed the Trump administration’s argument that the court had no location in settling the carefully seen conflict in between the executive and legal branches of the U.S. federal government. In doing so, it appeared to back an extensive view of governmental powers and authorities.
