The President bestows Hilal-e Pakistan on the MWL Secretary General

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Monday bestowed Hilal-e-Pakistan on General Secretary of Muslim World League Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa in confession of his services to Pakistan in different fields in special Initiation ceremony at Ivan-i-Sadr.

award was assigned in confession of his services in strengthening brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia; for being a tool for in award of scholarships for Pakistani students in educational institutions and higher education in Saudi Arabia; for respect and protection of rights of Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia; for promoting peace and harmony through conferences, seminars and dialogues in Muslim societies and also with rest of in world with the goal is to create harmony and unity in Islamic world; and demonstrating a peaceful harmonious and tolerant picture of Muslims in in world.

Later, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa and his delegation visited the president. Minister for for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Mufti Abdul Shakur, Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malki also attended the meeting, the press service of the presidential secretariat said. in Press release.

Talking to secretary-generalPresident called “Islamophobia”. one of the biggest challenges Existence faced Muslims and called need dispel fears of in world regarding Islam. He said that Islam protects for peace, solidarity and harmony among people of in the world and people representatives of different nations needed to learn about true message of Islam.

The President called need highlight true and harmonious nature of Islam in Muslim world and not only.
He said that Islamophobia must be countered and eradicated through peaceful and coordinated action. in Islamic world. He also emphasized need hold interfaith conferences, dialogues and meetings to exchange ideas with religious scholars and leaders of other religions to explain real message of Islam.

The President stated that moderation in Islamic societies can way in not only the eradication of extremism, terrorism and intolerance, but also also ensure promotion of peace and socio-economic justice. He also expressed concern over growing trend of Islamophobia in India, adding that Islamophobia in India was deeply rooted and patronized at the state level. He called need for taking concrete measures to help Muslims of India from negative influences of Islamophobia.

During the meeting, the President called on the Muslim World League to consider providing scholarships. for pupils of Sharia, Islamic studies, as well as scientific and technical disciplines. He also emphasized need for exchange program for in government officials to study management, especially regulation of religious affairs.

The President praised the efforts of the Muslim World League for in cause of Islam and Welfare of Muslim world and praised him work in parameter up centers for vocational education and training, providing of water and renovation and construction of mosques and religious institutions.

The president also praised the implementation of his idea was brought to the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan in set up islamic museum in Pakistan. He said that after the completion of this museum, people of Pakistan and all of in world will benefit from the exhibits and be able to learn about the various aspects and stages of life of Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

The President thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for security valuable support to Pakistan in help overcome the most pressing financial needs and for generous help to relieve suffering of in flood victims.

During the meeting, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al Issa praised Pakistan’s efforts. in picking it up voice against Islamophobia in general world forums, including the United Nations, which declared 15 March “International against Islamophobia”.

He said that Pakistani academics and civil society are deeply concerned with growing trend of Islamophobia and were playing en active and efficient role demonstrate peaceful and true face of Pakistan for the rest of in world.
He also highly appreciated the speech of the President at the two-day International Conference “Sirat-un-Nabi” (“Peace be upon him”) on the topic “Moral of Society, reformation and development: in the light of of Sirat-un-Nabi (peace be upon him)”, organized by the Ministry of of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, in Islamabad.
