David Lammy, Labor’s shadowy foreign secretary, testified that he had sent private messages to Kwasi Kwarteng and James Cleverly to congratulate them on was appointed chancellor and minister of foreign affairs.
Commenting on diversity of in new Cabinet minister Mr Lammy told Times Radio: “I think we are a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural country. I remember when we won Olympic Games and hosted the Olympic Games in 2012, that was the vision we presented world.
“This story really started under Tony Blair with appointment of people like Paul Boateng, Valerie Amos, Patricia Scotland who is now General Secretary of Commonwealth, Valerie Amos, who runs Oxford College.
“And I am very, very glad to see these very big offices of state in arms of people I disagree with, of of course I don’t agree with Kwasi Kwarteng and James Cleverly, but I wrote to them yesterday to congratulate them. it great achievement.”
