Top of the range of the new Opel Astra will be a 225 horsepower hybrid plug-in that will mark the beginning of a new era for the model and for the brand
The youngest can not being aware of it, but the Opel Astra is the descendant of a brand’s history, Kadett, for 30 years. And this new product comes with an aesthetic that is modern but that crosses historical or retro elements, in a youthful and striking combination.
The sixth generation, appears in a completely revolutionary context. The brand has already announced that it will leave combustion engines aside in 2028, and, for this very reason, this generation will be the last one still to have in line with the gasoline and diesel engines range.

But the big news is really this. This will be the first Opel Astra to have an electrified engine from scratch.
The power range of the new Astra will vary between 110 and 130 horsepower (gasoline and diesel variants) and it can reach 225 horses in the top-of-the-range version that will be precisely the hybrid plug-in. The gearboxes will be six-speed manual for combustion models or eight-speed automatic (in the case of electrified, only automatic is available).
This new Astra features a very striking design with the front “Vizor” brand image from the Mokka and an optional two-tone paint finish. Highlight for the Intelli-LUX lighting technology with 168 LED elements that ensure a distinct luminous signature.

The Astra also has numerous comfort, security and automated assistance systems, to assist the driver.
The new Opel Astra should be available for ordering next fall, with the first deliveries only taking place in 2022.
