ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Ishak Dar, who returned to the country two days ago, appeared before accountability court in Islamabad after leaving for five years in en assets beyond the means of the case.
He was accompanied by the Minister for Interior of Rana Sanaullah Khan and party MP Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, in his capacity as Judge Muhammad Bashir, heard the case.
During the trial, the judge asked where he was all this time? Dar replied that he out of country for treatment, and his passport was canceled so he could not return.
The court noted next hearing will be held on dismissal order plea together with NAB assets link.
After that, the court notified the NAB and requested a detailed response by 7 October.
During a conversation with media outside in court, Dar said that he did not have a passport for four years during the time of Imran Khan in power. minister claimed that Khan had canceled his passport, which seemed to be his priority. “He also put my name on passport control list and then sent all embassies and high commissions to ensure that my passport was not issued to Daru,” he said.
Dar also claimed that he was issued a passport two months ago after coalition government enter into power. He said he had to plan his return.
“Case against I’m a fake, I didn’t actually file tax returns from 1981 to 2001,” he said. “I never hesitated to file my tax return, even for 20 minutes in more than 40 years old of my life,” he said.
He criticized the PTI leaders, asking where the ministers of Khan did big statements during their regime that they would bring Ishak Dar back to the country through Interpol within two or three months.
“But it couldn’t happen because I filed all the tax returns there and it was big slap on imran khan government that they sent me back. Interpol has categorically stated that they found nothing against Ishak Dar.
Without naming the channel, Dar claimed that one media house broadcast false promotion of tax returns against him whom he challenged in UK court. In this regard, the channel apologized. in writing and paid 30 million rupees as compensationDar said.
