ISLAMABAD: court in Islamabad hears sedition case against PTI leader Shahbaz Gill postponed verdict on a plea search for an extension in his detention.
PTI leader appeared in court today after the completion of two days of physical arrest. The verdict will announced at 10:30.
Gill was arrested on Tuesday from Banigal Chowk for creating division inside military. He made controversial comments during a speech on a private TELEVISION.
Case of sedition registered against him to the Kosar police station on the basis of several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including 124-A (sedition), 131 (sedition or attempt to seduce a soldier, sailor or airman from his duty), 153 (unreasonable provocation with mean cause rebellion, if rebellion is committed; if not committed), 153-A (inciting hatred between different groups, etc.) and 505 (statements promoting public mischief), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), etc.
Islamabad police on Thursday also wife and relative arrested of Gills driver during the raid on accusations of riots and attacks on security officials. The police carried out a raid to seize his phone from his driver’s residence, during which family members resisted and “attacked” personnel.
