According to the police, the ship with a carrying capacity of 62,000 tons of the soybeans were moored on the East Wharf.
Taking to Twitter, the federal minister for Maritime affairs, Faisal Subzwari confirmed sinking and dismissed leak reports of poisonous gas.
“Unfortunately, 2 workers entered in a wrong Luke of ship in East Wharf. Because of the abundance of dust particles, and without oxygen they suffocated. Rescue operation in progress on1 body restored just minutes ago,” he said.
Later Federal Minister also uploaded a video of save work and said, “We are all standing here, including the chairman of the CPT and other workers, although there is no poisonous gas,” adding that “another body of labor has also has been restored.”
Faisal Subzwari further stated that a high-level investigation has been launched and the report will be made public within 24 hours.
