Siemens runs its emission-free electric buses on infrastructure in Australia

With a twenty-one per cent share, trucks and buses account for the second largest slice of Australian transport gas emissions. State governments are therefore pushing for a shift to low-emission transport across Australia. New South Wales, for example, aims to make its entire fleet of 8,300 buses zero-emission by 2030.

The Siemens Sicharge UC system covers the entire power range from 50 to 600 kilowatts and can be operated at voltages up to 1000 volts, which provides optimal flexibility for the design of electric bus terminals.

“Given that the technology of charging infrastructures can change rapidly, it is worthwhile for local manufacturers to work with a leading supplier such as Siemens. “ ,” said Scott Dunn, CEO of Custom Denning.

Siemens’ smart depot monitoring solution also enables intelligent charging scheduling. Transport companies can thus take advantage of lower fares at night to ensure that all their electric buses reach the target load level by morning.
