Shooting incident reported at the Golden Lion pub in Rainford

A LARGE police presence was seen in Rainford this afternoon after reporting that a man had been shot dead. in leg.

The man was reportedly shot dead by another man outside at the Golden Lion Pub today around 4:20 pm (Sunday 31 July).

Chief Inspector Phil Cowin said: “We in very early stages of our investigation and are working tirelessly to establish full circumstances of shooting at the Golden Lion pub this afternoon, which left the man is injured.

“We believe it was deliberate attack and there is no wider threat to community in Rainford after this incident.

“However, we know who witnessed the shooting in the pub in in broad daylight would be incredibly shocking. I want calm down people what detectives work round-clock to find a person responsible and bring them to justice.
