Shigeru Miyamoto is the most recognizable person at Nintendo. Since joining the Japanese business in 1977, Miyamoto, the designer of popular franchises like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, has come to be identified with it.
Miyamoto is now 70 years old, and, as we all know, father time has not been defeated. At some point, Miyamoto’s employment with Nintendo will end. That raises the issue of what will transpire when that moment arrives.
Miyamoto recently discussed the company’s future and what he believes will happen in an interview with NPR.
Shigeru Miyamoto believes Nintendo will fare well.
Miyamoto stated through an interpreter, “You know, I feel like it’s not going to change. “It will be the same. Those who create Mario, members of the leadership team, and other creators inside the business. Each of them understands what it means to be a Nintendo.
He continued by saying that, as a result, different viewpoints on particular issues are kept from being tossed around. He claims this is a case of employees working for the company being aware of its overarching goals and what Nintendo values.
Even when new ideas are proposed, whether they capture Nintendo’s spirit must be considered, in addition to the fact that they are new. “And that’s something that, you know – we have this amazing shared vision about this that’s almost a little frightening. Hence, I don’t believe it will change.
When it does, Miyamoto has said he doesn’t anticipate doing so anytime soon. He continues to work on other Nintendo-related projects, such as the planned Super Mario Bros. movie and Pikmin 4, the most recent entry in the Pikmin series.
